Things are changing.
No longer does LR have to eat every single thing that she comes across, from pebbles to slugs to dead bees 😦 A small piece of glass was even consumed one day. Thankfully we were outside the Village Vet and dashed inside for a quick check up.
On the other hand, I see more of me in her everyday. Is this because we spend 90% of the day together? Possibly, but it still makes me feel warm and fuzzy. She’s a speed walker; she cannot just amble along, impossible! She’s hyper-focussed on the task at hand; not even a pork sausage can tempt her away from her pavement vacuuming sessions. And she always wants to know the plan for the day. Haha, well no, I actually think that’s just me.
But she’s definitely a people-watcher too. We love to sit on the pavement and watch the world go by over a good coffee (only for me of course, although I have heard that puppiccinos are a thing). Carluccios always provides a great vantage point on a busy road.
What I’m trying to remember is that her puppy days are flying past. I need to savour theses times, even the challenges, because she’ll be a big girl before we know it. ‘Living in the moment’ is such old hat. But if I look back, I was living in Johannesburg this time last January and I now realise how much I took for granted. I’m sure it will be the same this time next year.
There are some things, however, that have stayed the same. LR still loves to conquer a mountain of washing! Luckily there’s never a shortage of laundry in this house. Pics below, then and now. Hahaha.
